About The Fund

Giving to the University of Michigan Mechanical Engineering Special Gifts Fund will help to support a wide variety of influential and educational initiatives for UM-ME students and faculty. Everything from graduate student seminars, professional development workshops, student team projects, research symposia, faculty strategic planning retreats, and more are made possible through the fund.

In fact, monies generated from this fund have most recently made the new Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Symposium (MEUS) possible as well as ME’s Career Week. MEUS provides a venue for the department’s exceptional undergraduate students to showcase their projects from RISE (Research, Innovation, Service and Entrepreneurship) as well as their Design and Manufacturing X50 courses. Career Week was launched in March of 2016 as a means for faculty and alumni to mentor students for early career exploration in both industry and academic paths in the field of mechanical engineering.
